visiting Corrie
Lewis got to visit his friend, Corrie, yesterday. Here are a few pics:
Lewis: Smile, Corrie!
Corrie: Huh?
Corrie: Yay, a visitor! I love people!
Lewis: Maybe girls aren't so bad after all.
Corrie: You're so muscular! Have you been working out?
Lewis: Why is she touching my leg?
Corrie: Do you want to taste my finger?
Lewis: Hmmm..........that's not bad!
Lewis: Give that back! It's attached for a reason.
Corrie: Look, mom! A boy on a leash!

Lewis speaks
The big news this week is that Lewis is now saying "da da." We don't know for sure that he is referring to his daddy Justin, but at least some of the time seems to get what it means! Because it is the only thing he can say, he says it all the time. It's been fun to watch him so excited to communicate with us. He also got to use a new hooded towel he got for Christmas from Aunt Beth. We think he's a cute little monkey. :)

happy valentine's day!
Lewis would like to wish everyone a very happy Valentine's Day! He is excited to share the day with an older woman. My friend and former roommate, Tasha, is here and they have been bonding over the last few days (see photo). He is also happy to get some quality time with our cat, Macchiato (we call her Machi). You can see from the picture that he loves to pet her! We're sure they are going to be good pals as time goes on.
Lewis has moved up to the next car seat. He likes it because he sits up higher and can see a lot more scenery as we drive around. He also enjoyed his first ride in a shopping cart yesterday at Kroger. He likes sitting up and getting to see all the people and products at the store. He is also sitting up more in the bathtub now (also shown), but we still lie him down to wash his hair to keep all that soap from getting in his eyes.
He has added zucchini to his diet, and liked it, but we are especially glad that his second round of peas is going so well. For some reason the peas have been great for his tummy!

grandparents in training
It has been so cold this week! Lewis and i have been frequenting the Greenwood Mall to get a change of scenery and for fun with the stroller. To stay warm, Lewis has been dressing in layers. He and Justin ended up wearing essentially the same outfit the other day, totally by accident. We are ready for some warmer weather!
Lewis also got to see his first SuperBowl, though he missed the end due to sleep. He enjoyed the Soup-er Bowl Sundae potluck after church. Joe and Paula Trafton took him captive to practice their grandparenting skills for future use. He had a really good time with them, especially when they introduced him to some fun helium balloons. He was giggling like a school girl!

another busy week
Lewis had another busy week with lots of visitors. Monday brought his Great Aunt Imogene to play and work on Spencer's Coffeehouse taxes. Wednesday brought Grandma and Grandpa Shepherd (see Grandma reading him a story) as well as Aunt Jeanne. Thursday some friends came over before the big snow (1.9 inches) on Groundhogs Day. Today Grandma and Grandpa Reitmeyer came with Aunt Ellen. Needless to say, Lewis enjoyed seeing everyone despite his most recent teething episode. We are really hoping this one produces an actual tooth. We'll let you know when and if it happens! He endured his first encounter with peas, and ended up actually liking them (yay!). For a while he was wondering if we really need peas on Earth, but decided maybe we do. (I know that's a bad joke, but I don't get out much!). You can see in the picture where Grandma (Martha) is feeding him carrots that he is not sure whether he likes those or not. He did not like them so much the first time a few weeks ago, but his tastes are developing so we figured why not give it another shot? Bananas went over really well earlier this week, and oatmeal remains Lewis' most favorite food. He actually cries when he finishes a bowl.
With all this activity, Lewis took a minute to enjoy some time scantily clad in just a diaper. A baby's got to be a baby sometimes. :)
