Christmas highlights

Christmas Eve we headed to Shepherdsville to spend time with Justin's family. His sisters and I all got Lands End fleeces from his cousin and randomly all showed up wearing them. We had to take a picture.

Me, Jeanne and Monica (the aunties).

Grandpa with the boys.

Lewis was really into opening gifts this year. He kept asking when we could open them. He waited until after our lovely meal and then tore into them. Owen got this stackable train. As with most of the gifts, both boys love this one.

Lewis was excited to get his "ball popper." He had been asking for this for months now. The favorite toy of the day that ended up in a heated fight between the boys was a Thomas bath toy. We still have to keep those hidden.

We went home on Christmas Eve night to prepare for Christmas morning. The boys don't really get "Santa" but they woke up to our gifts to them (including new Titans gear and a Fisher Price airport).

Lewis also got Harold the helicopter.

Midmorning my family arrived. Here's dad opening some shoes, and Martha got some slippers.

Lewis got some stickers from Aunt Beth that he really loves.

Owen kissing his new stuffed lion from Aunt Ellen.

Owen and daddy playing with the airport.

A random Reitmeyer tradition is getting an ice cream cake for Jesus' birthday. This year Lewis got to blow out the candle. He didn't learn to blow out candles until after his last birthday so we are excited for his next one. He'll have 4 whole candles to blow out, but we think he'll be up for it. He's also singing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus at random now too, which is pretty cute.

Lewis and Grandpa pose for a quick picture before the celebrating came to a close. We had a great day....with a few more fights. But we think the boys will get back to normal once our routine gets back into full swing. We are grateful to the generosity of our family to make the holidays extra special. It's just nice to get together too! Hope yours was fun. :)
