Lewis blows bubbles and other fun tidbits

We're pretty excited about this one!! Lewis has had the hardest time grasping the concept of blowing. We have worked on it for a LONG time and had basically given up because it seemed ridiculous for us to constantly be blowing around him or trying to get him to use random whistles, instruments or party favors. But the other day his beans were too hot, and I blew on them and he started blowing! So we broke out some bubbles and sure enough he had enough air going to make some. He can actually do it!

If you have done speech therapy with Lewis, then you might be on the floor right now, but get back up and watch this little video. No it's not a cotton ball on the table, but the fruits of all that labor is paying off...with bubbles. If you listen closely you can hear Lewis count to three.

Last night was also a key victory for us in the food arena. Owen, who is becoming more picky, ate a good amount of tuna helper (the cheesy kind), and Lewis discovered nuts of all varieties. We have tried peanuts and walnuts and other particular kinds of nutty things that Lewis has never taken to. But after our insistence he had some mixed nuts last night, starting with cashews, and then continued to eat a ton of them saying "mo nu" or as we understand him, "More nuts." It's especially awesome because it is a ton of protein in a form that easily transported and requires no prep. Yay, a new food for Lewis!!

We had a visit from the grandparents Shepherd yesterday and managed to get a cute picture of Owen and Grandma.

They lent their aid while I was attending a bridal shower for a friend, Jeanne Logsdon. Somehow I got no pictures of Jeanne, but got a nice one of another friend, Meredith Dean, and her "prize" after playing a shower game that she absolutely did not win. As luck would have it, the winners opted for chocolate and Meredith ended up with a lovely parting gift. I don't get out enough so this was a ton of fun for me! :)

Justin has continued to work on Spencer's and put some new furniture in there today. If you are around stop by and check it out. Oh, and we got to see Harry Potter on Friday which was so fun.
