dinosaurs and balloons

Last weekend, Sept. 12-13, was a fun one. On Saturday, we took the kids to Dinosaur World in Cave City, KY. It was dollar day for surrounding county residents, so we all got in for a grand total of $3. You can't beat that. It was a nice nature walk with a ton of fake dinosaurs as they might have been back in the day. Below is the T-rex.

Poor Owen was stuck in the stroller.

Justin and Lewis got to dig for 'fossils.' Lewis mostly liked playing in the sand.

The ride home.

On Sunday, Lewis and I got up at the crack of dawn to watch the balloons fly in at the Balloons, Tunes & BBQ event held in Bowling Green. We tried to go see the balloons last year, but went in the afternoon and there were no balloons present. It was disappointing! This year, we missed the crowd by going at 7 a.m., and it was amazing to see the balloons up close. Lewis loves regular balloons, so we were certain he would love great big balloons, and we were right.

The brown balloon was his favorite. He talks about it the most anyway.

It was such a pleasant time with just the two of us. Definitely worth getting up early to see Lewis so happy.

We should mention that in the picture of Lewis with the fast-food cup, he is drinking water, not some sugary awful soda-pop beverage. (But my root beer was delicious!) --Justin

I LOVE dinosaur world! It's cheesy but we loved it. Daniel still talks about it. I think we'll go back again sometime.
