in the driver's seat

Last weekend we trekked up to Louisville for my high school reunion. It's hard to believe I graduated 15 years ago!! Anyway, we made a weekend of it, visiting family and friends, which was a nice change of pace.

We went to Shepherdsville first, and the boys had a blast with the grandparents there. Lewis finally got the hang of driving his monster truck (the one he got for Christmas last year), but he still has some room for improvement. Pushing the pedal AND steering is a lot for our boy to take on at once, but it is immediate reinforcement for him to keep trying. He loves making it go.

Grandpa walking alongside.

Checking under the hood to make sure everything's looking good.

Of course, we had to take a video.

Lewis also really enjoyed playing with the stone people. They seem to be his favorite kind of people lately. There's no possibility of rejection with stone people which makes them easier to practice play skills on.

Owen had a good time too. He loved the swing.
And when we went to the Reitmeyers, he enjoyed getting better aquainted with cousin Mallory.

This week included several trips to the square like usual. Owen is still not quite ready to walk (he is trying to take a couple steps here or there), but he likes standing next to things, and especially fountains or anything involving water.
