one month shy

Our big girl is 11 months old! It is hard to believe in less than a month she'll be turning one. She is doing so much and learning so much, I will do my best to sum up what her last month has been like. Justin took this month's photo of Phoebe and her lion.
At some point, she started rocking on her knees. I don't remember the boys ever doing this. But she even has started crawling up on her knees the last few days. She often gives up and goes back into army crawling, but she has gone some pretty good distances like this just recently.

We like going to Steak 'n Shake from time to time, and she has embraced these kinds of outings. She is very friendly and waves at everyone. She was really adored by the "grandmas" and "grandpas" at Aldi the other day. One little old man even kissed her on the head! They loved that she was waving and smiling.

She has embraced her sippy cup this month too. She is drinking a good amount from it daily! At first she just chewed on it and got a sip here or there, but now she is really drinking!

Her hair has grown some too, so that we can use some of the little hair clips that we have on hand. Often, we forget! But she's really cute when we get one to stay in.

Phoebe continues to eat more foods. Olives and green beans seem to be her favorites to pick up and eat. Her other favorite is plain yogurt. I made it for the boys, and started with her at 9 months. It is a bit of work, but worth the trouble every 10 days or so. I wondered if she would like it the way they did, and sure enough she is vocal about her love for yogurt. As soon as I get it out of the refrigerator, she cries and whines until I get a bite in her mouth. So funny!

She has become a dare devil too. She loves to pull up on things and stand. Now she has started standing with no hands, cruising some and she has thought about taking some steps, but she's not really there yet. She is pushing a push walker that we hope to post a video of soon. The only thing we haven't seen her do is to move from crawling to sitting. She's done it at least once, but we haven't seen it happen.

Phoebe has begun to play with toys requiring her to put a ball in a certain place. This one is especially exciting for her because the ball goes around and she can see it happen. We have another where she drops the ball into an elephant and it makes a sound, and then rolls back out, which is also fun.

She also loves swinging and being outside!

Phoebe has been to the doctor off and on since January. She has had ear infections consistently, but our last visit showed only fluid on one ear. Our doctor wanted to try one more antibiotic daily for 6 weeks to try and clear up the fluid because otherwise she will likely need tube(s). This antibiotic seemed to make her nauseous because she was having a hard time keeping down food. At 23 lbs. we are not really worried about her wasting away, but he has taken her down to half a dose and she has been fine since. We are hoping her ear clears up by her 12 month visit.

Here's a video of her and the ball toy.
